- 【Important】Regarding Requesting a "Letter of Assessment" from Faculty Members

As part of the application documents for the University-wide Student Exchange Program, applicants are required to request a Letter of Assessment for USTEP Applicants from a faculty member of the University (including part-time instructors).
Please make sure to request this letter well in advance. Requests made right before the deadline may not be accommodated.
For details on how to request the letter, please refer to the application guidelines, section “8. How to Apply,” (4) Application Documents, "The Letter of Assessment for USTEP Applicants".

 

- USTEP Information Session

An online information session was held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 12:00 to 13:00, to provide a clear overview of the University-wide Student Exchange Program. Faculty members from the Center for Global Education also shared messages and advice for students. Requirement of Language Proficiency

?Language proficiency certificates will be required only after you pass the internal screening process. Please note that even if you pass the internal screening, you will not be nominated to a partner university unless you meet the language requirements. For details, please refer to the application guidelines.
?Some partner universities have set language proficiency requirements but do not state them on their websites or in their fact sheets. Instead, the requirements are listed only in the separate document "The List of Information on Partner Universities." Please make sure to refer to this document as well.
?Please note that requirements of language proficiency sometimes vary depending on the faculties/departments even in a partner university. If you are not sure about the eligibility/requirement of a partner university, please address your question through the College, Faculty, or Graduate school of your current affiliation.
※It may take some time to confirm with a partner university. Please make sure to inquire well in advance.
 

Scholarships

?After passing the internal screening, you will be eligible to apply for scholarships associated with the program. Please refer to the application guidelines for details.
?Students may instead apply for scholarships which offer more generous conditions. (However, students who receive such scholarships are sometimes not eligible for the scholarship through the program. If you directly apply for an alternative scholarship, please be aware that some scholarships set its application due dates earlier than the notice of result of USTEP. (Most scholarships accept applications from students who have not passed screening of study abroad programs.)
