The India–Japan Platform for the Promotion of Student Exchange Meeting was held in a hybrid format
On February 4, 2026, the 8th Meeting of the India–Japan Platform for the Promotion of Student Exchange was held in a hybrid format in the Yasuda Auditorium of the University of Tokyo. As the final meeting of FY2025, the event brought together 91 participants from 50 institutions across Japan and India. Of these, 29 participants from 18 institutions attended in person.
During the meeting, representatives from various institutions delivered presentations on student exchange initiatives between Japan and India, educational programs and upcoming events. Following the presentations, lively Q&A sessions took place, providing participants with opportunities to exchange views on concrete initiatives, shared challenges and potential areas for future collaboration. The meeting served as a productive forum for discussion.
By adopting a hybrid format that combined in-person participation with the conventional online format, the meeting provided an opportunity for the in-person attendees to strengthen their networks through direct interaction. At the same time, the online participation enabled the involvement of a wide range of institutions beyond geographical constraints, ensuring broad information sharing.
A networking session was also held after the meeting, fostering further exchanges among the participants through open and informal discussions. Through this platform, we aim to continue promoting enhanced cooperation in higher education and student exchanges between Japan and India.
