Academic Year 2025 Research Restart and Work-Life Balance Support Programs
Eligibility
(1)Those who are living with and nurturing a child (or children) under school age [childcare]
(2)Those who are living with and primarily taking care of a relative who has been certified as needing care [family care]
(3)Those who have other reasons similar to the above

The program allocates grants for restarting research to researchers who have returned (or are returning) in 2024 or 2025 from any of the leave or time-off described below. However, the maximum grant of JPY 1,000,000 shall be limited to one time per child or relative for whose care the researcher has taken the leave or the time-off. In case of difficulties in executing the entire budget due to the timing of return or other reasons, the researcher may apply for a maximum grant of JPY 500,000. |

2.Continued Support for Research Restart

3.Work-Life Balance Support

The program allocates funds, to cover the personnel expenses for employing research support staff, to researchers balancing childcare or family care with education and research. Those who fall under (1) and wish to receive this grant are required to have taken either of the following leave or time-off: |
