ThirdWorlds The Social Life of Skills in the Global South
過去20年間、グローバル?サウス諸国では、政府や国際開発機関による技能開発改革の推進が活発に行われてきました。職業教育?訓練の拡充、产业界の需要に沿ったカリキュラムの整備、サービス提供の改善など、多様な改革が試みられてきました。
しかし、これらの改革はしばしば、技能がどのように学ばれ、获得され、日常生活の中でどのように活用され、评価されているのかという现実への理解を欠いています。人びとが自身の技能を有意义にかつ収益的に活かすことを妨げる社会的?制度的障壁も见过ごされがちです。
本書に収められた論考は、こうした知識の空白を埋めるべく、グレース?カーズウェルとヘールト?デ?ネーヴが提唱する「技能の社会的生命」、すなわち「人びとの技能へのアクセス、雇用、賃金、満足、尊厳を可能にする (あるいは制限する) 社会的プロセス、関係性、イデオロギー」を探究しています。
インド、台湾、トルコ、ブラジルで実施された研究に基づき、(a) どのような労働が「熟練」または「非熟練」として社会的?制度的に認識されるかを規定する社会的文脈、(b) フォーマル?インフォーマル?ノンフォーマルな場における技能習得の多様な形態、(c) 権力関係や交差する不平等と技能の関わり、(d) 技能が主体性、志向、アイデンティティをいかに表現し得るかを明らかにします。
本书は学术誌 Third World Quarterly の特集号として発表された论文群を再编集したもので、国际职业教育研究の第一人者であるケネス?キング名誉教授による新たなあとがきも収録されています。
