Professor Kaori Hayashi, Executive Vice President, paid a courtesy visit to the University of Colombo on 4 September 2025 during her visit to Sri Lanka.

She met with Senior Professor Lasantha Manawadu (Dean, Faculty of Arts) and Dr. Iroja Caldera (Director, International Office University of Colombo) and exchanged views on expanding opportunities for Sri Lankan Students to study in Japan and further promoting mutual academic and cultural exchanges in addition to explaining about the activities of “Study in Japan” program. Prof. Hayashi was informed about the newly established Japanese language course in the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine as well as the need to further diversify the nationality of students at University of Colombo and the wish to collaborate further in the activities of AUA (Asian Universities Alliance) in which both universities are members.
