Big data from official statistics will be analyzed to examine changes in the health and wellbeing indicators of foreign residents in Japan for before and after the COVID-19 restrictions. The difference-in-differences method will be used for data analysis. To identify factors that cannot be obtained from big data alone, a qualitative inquiry will be also conducted for individual foreign residents.
